Price action means reading what price itself is doing: candles, highs and lows, and structure. It is the base layer the other tools sit on.

What it is
Price action ignores most indicators and studies the chart directly. In an uptrend, price makes higher highs and higher lows. In a downtrend, lower highs and lower lows. When that pattern changes, called a break of structure, the trend may be turning.
Candles add detail. A long wick shows price was rejected. A large body shows conviction. Patterns like engulfing candles or pin bars only matter in the right place, at a zone or a level.
How you use it on gold
Gold gives clear structure on the higher timeframes and a lot of noise on the lower ones. A common approach is to read the daily and four-hour charts for direction, then look for an entry on a smaller timeframe at a zone. Context is everything: the same candle means different things at a level, in the middle of a range or after a news spike.
What you will learn
- Reading trend and structure on several timeframes
- Recognising a break of structure
- Reading candle shape in context
- Entering at zones with a clear stop
- Avoiding patterns taken out of context
One mistake to avoid
Memorising pattern names and trading them wherever they appear. A pin bar in the middle of a range means little. Decide the direction from the higher timeframe, and write your plan before you enter.
YouTube or learning with us?
Price action is one of the most popular topics on YouTube. Some creators teach the patterns free and charge for the advanced level.
Pros
- Free patterns and examples.
- Easy to practise on any chart.
Cons
- Pattern videos ignore context, so patterns look more reliable than they are.
- Winning examples are chosen after the fact.
- Entry rules, stops and risk are usually sold as the next level.
How we teach it
With us, price action is the foundation, not a list of patterns. Structure gives you the direction, zones give you the location, and the rest of the toolkit adds context before any trade.
- Structure first, patterns second

Keep in mind
Price action is a matter of judgment, and two traders can read the same chart differently. It does not remove risk, so keep a stop-loss on every trade.
