Support and resistance are price areas where gold has repeatedly paused or turned. They give you reference points for entries, stops and targets.

What it is
Support is an area where falling price has slowed or bounced before. Resistance is an area where rising price has stalled or turned. The more clearly price reacted there, the more traders watch it.
When price breaks a level and then comes back to test it from the other side, old support often becomes new resistance, and the reverse. This is called role reversal.
How you use it on gold
Gold respects round numbers and old highs and lows. Treat each level as an area, not an exact line, because price often overshoots a little. A level on the daily chart matters more than one on the five-minute chart, so start on the higher timeframe and work down.
What you will learn
- Drawing levels as areas, not hairlines
- Ranking levels by timeframe and touches
- Reading role reversal after a break
- Spotting false breakouts
- Placing stops beyond a level and targets before the next
One mistake to avoid
Entering the moment price touches a level. A level is a place to watch, not a place to act automatically. Wait to see how price reacts, and decide your exit before you enter.
YouTube or learning with us?
Support and resistance is often the first topic you meet on YouTube. Some channels teach the basics free and charge for the advanced level.
Pros
- A good free introduction.
- Lots of clear visual examples.
Cons
- Beginners end up drawing too many lines.
- Breakouts are shown when they work, not when they fail.
- Little advice on stops, targets or position size.
How we teach it
With us, a level only counts when it lines up with a zone, volume and the trend. Every trade at a level starts with its risk, not its reward.
- Higher timeframe first, then the trade

Keep in mind
Levels break. One that held ten times can fail on the eleventh, especially around news. Treat each level as a decision point, not a guarantee. A simple way to start: on a daily chart of gold, mark the three clearest levels above and below price. Then switch to a smaller timeframe and watch how price behaves when it reaches them, before you risk any money.

Gold (XAUUSD) and CFD trading carries a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Signals are general information, not personal advice, and do not guarantee results. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Only trade money you can afford to lose.
