ICT concepts are a popular set of ideas about liquidity, structure and where large players may act. They give you a useful vocabulary, but not every claim around them is proven.

What it is
ICT stands for Inner Circle Trader, the name of a trading educator. The ideas include liquidity (stops resting above highs and below lows that price may reach for), order blocks, fair value gaps (fast moves that leave an imbalance) and kill zones (the busiest hours of the London and New York sessions).
Used sensibly, they describe how price moves between areas of stops and areas of imbalance. Used without care, they become a long list of rules with confident names.
How you use it on gold
Gold is very active in the London and New York sessions, so session-based ideas suit it. In practice you ask where stops are likely to rest, whether price has swept them, and whether a zone formed after the sweep. Beware of hindsight: almost any chart can be explained with ICT terms afterwards, which proves nothing about your next trade.
What you will learn
- Liquidity, sweeps and market structure
- Order blocks and fair value gaps
- Session timing and why it matters for gold
- Premium and discount within a range
- Keeping what holds up and dropping what does not
One mistake to avoid
Collecting terms instead of testing ideas. Knowing a dozen names does not make a method. Keep a journal of each idea you use, record the result honestly, and drop what does not hold up.
YouTube or learning with us?
ICT content is huge on YouTube, and much of it is free. Some creators teach the terms free and charge for the advanced level.
Pros
- A lot of free material.
- A shared vocabulary many traders use.
Cons
- Heavy jargon makes simple ideas hard to follow.
- Most examples are explained after the move.
- Bold performance claims are common and rarely checked.
How we teach it
We take the useful ideas, such as liquidity, structure and session timing, and fit them into one method with a fixed order and clear risk rules. Anything we cannot test or explain plainly, we leave out.
- Plain language instead of jargon

Gold (XAUUSD) and CFD trading carries a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Signals are general information, not personal advice, and do not guarantee results. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Only trade money you can afford to lose.
